Titumir College protesters ‘invited’ to Secretariat for discussions today

A 14-member delegation from Government Titumir College was invited to the Secretariat today for discussions on upgrading the college to a university, according to students.
“We were invited by the government, and we are on our way to the Secretariat to attend the meeting,” said Habibullah Rony, a student of the college.
The meeting, scheduled for this afternoon, comes as students boycotted academic activities earlier today to press their demand.
Earlier in the day, students gathered on campus, awaiting a formal response from the government regarding their demand.
Ali Ahmed, another student, told The Daily Star, “We are waiting for the government’s response to our demand for the college to be upgraded to a university.”
